As a Principal Web UI Engineer in the UK Product Development Team at JUST EAT you will work on a product that generated over £1 billion worth of orders (over 60 million individual orders) in 2014 but wait, 2015 is set to be even bigger!
As a Web UI specialist you will be joining a lean cross functional team of Android, iOS, API, product and UX developers. Our current objective is to create a leading mobile experience within JUST EAT and we define our own roadmap to achieve this.
Your position will be critical to the success of the team by completing our range of skills and bringing a wealth of knowledge around world class UI in general. Our team is all about flexibility, we band together to solve our problems. You should feel happy to talk about and maybe even develop in other languages (this is not a requirement). Every person in the team is responsible for the quality of what we produce and so is involved in the deliverables we have all the way from the idea phase to monitoring its success in production.
As a Principal web UI Engineer in the UK Product Development team, what will you be doing?:
- Be heavily involved with all UK consumer facing sites, both desktop and all mobile sites which are the sole responsibility of the UK Product Development team.
- Work on an extremely high traffic site that relies on accessibility and user centred design.
- Give direction and leadership in terms of the technology roadmap utilised within UI at JUST EAT.
- Using OKR's to be aligned with company wide objectives, and create great clarity about what will make the boat go faster!
As a Principal Engineer you will:
- Will be a trusted technical authority; someone we can turn to for reliable, concise engineering advice and guidance.
- Take technical ownership of your team’s work, from its infancy through to delivering production ready software that pushes our standards ever higher.
- Ensure the Technology department as a whole continuously improves, by proposing and implementing new processes, designs and engineering practices that makes your team more effective; and then use your influence, and the respect others have for you, to have these processes implemented more widely across other teams.
- Evangelise the technical work of your team to the wider community outside JUST EAT.
