Syncromatics Corporation
Syncromatics is a leading provider of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) serving transit agencies, universities and private operators across the country. We collect GPS and other sensor data from buses, shuttles, trolleys and other moving vehicles and then transport it via cellular networks to our back-end systems for real-time aggregation, analytics, alerting and reporting. All of this information is used by dispatchers, transit planners and the riding public to make transit systems more accessible to riders, and run more efficiently for operators.

Syncromatics is headquartered in the PacMutual building, located adjacent to Pershing Square and easily accessible via the 7th St/Metro Center and Pershing Square Metro stations. Many of our employees take advantage of public transportation. Employees who choose to drive are made fun of for excessively loving their cars and paying for parking. The Pershing Square/Bunker Hill area is a thriving, revitalized area of downtown Los Angeles with limitless restaurants, coffee shops, gyms, shopping and other amenities. Our building alone houses Water Grill, Tender Greens, Starbucks, Earthbar, two amazing French cafes (Le Pain Quotidien and Pitchoun), a sandwich shop, a crepe place, Verizon, FedEx and a high-end boutique fashion store that never has any customers. Did we mention that a Whole Foods is going in a few blocks away where you'll be able to overspend on lunch every day? The Kogi taco truck also sets up shop nearby every Friday!
The Role:
In addition to being able to consume vast quantities of food, we're looking for a strong .NET generalist eager to work in an environment with a diverse ecosystem of applications: web apps and services, native mobile apps, high-level embedded apps, network programming, the Actor Model (Akka.net), messaging systems, relational databases, etc. We don't expect incoming engineers to have experience/expertise in all of these areas but we seek those who are looking to learn new things and have confidence in their own ability to get up to speed quickly.
Your core competencies:
- C# generalist with the versatility to jump from database queries to REST API design to Angular. ASP.NET MVC, Web API, NancyFx, SQL Server
- Designing and implementing multi-tiered and multi-layered distributed applications
- Bonus Points: Angular.js, Android development
Problems you will tackle:
- Building a highly-available, distributed system using messaging systems and the actor model
- Reporting on large amounts of event, log and time-series data
- Building out scalable RESTful APIs for both internal and external consumption
- Building real-time, web-socket based user interface
