Role overview
- Be an active contributor to design and coding of the software products architectural and business features
- Design and develop the best possible reusable software components and services by applying OOD patterns and practices
- Work collaboratively within cross-functional scrum teams alongside technical architects, developers, analysts, UI/UX specialists and testers
- Drive best practice process for Agile design and development with a focus on continuous improvement
- Support the estimation process for component and services design and development
- Ensure coding, unit test standards are met and a high quality software product is delivered
- Provide technical input into planning , task definition, estimation and resource assignment
- Support the development of effective processes, practices, tools and standards for development, delivery, and communication
- Provide input into Scrum planning and progress reporting
- Keep abreast of latest technological developments and patterns and practices and recommend for implementation
- Actively seek professional learning and development opportunities
- Promote Agile Requirement, Architecture, Design and Development best practice
- Provide mentoring on all areas of both the functional and technical knowledge of the software product
Ideal Candidate
Experience required.
- Proven expert knowledge of ASP.Net MVC with, HTML 5, CSS 3.0, AJAX, JQuery, JavaScript design and Development experience. Essential 2+ years ASP.Net MVC 4.0 or higher.
- Proven WCF Services, ASP.Net Web API design and development experience
- Proven Expert C# .Net framework design and development skills of 5+ years. Essential framework 4.0 and higher for 3+ years
- Proven Object Orientated Design and Development experience
- Proven experience of working with UI/UX design specialists
- Proven Unit test, mocking and faking libraries and frameworks experience
- Proven experience working in an Agile Scrum, Kanban or XP development and product management environment
- Proficient ASP.Net SPA design pattern, JavaScript libraries like Knockout JS, BootStrap front end framework, and Modenizer library experience.
- Proficient knowledge of ADO.Net Entity framework or other ORM like NHibernate
- Proficient knowledge of BDD (Behavioural Driven Design)
- Worked in an environment that applies Continuous Integration and Deployment
- Proficient knowledge of Team Foundation Server, SonarQube, Resharper and Team City
- Experience of full lifecycle software product line practices and processes for financial service industry
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experienced in using ALM toolsets like Jira Agile, HP Agile Manager or Team Foundation Server

- Expert knowledge in the Financial Services, preferably, Life and Pensions industry
- Microsoft Certifications - MCSD Web Applications
- Proven SOLID design principles experience. Essential that this experience is real world.
- Proficient knowledge of Windows Forms development
- Experience of Scrum master/team leading
- Exposure to ASP.Net Signal-R
- Exposure to Event Driven Frameworks
- Proven development experience in tackling complexity in large domains, isolating domain code (POCO entities) on loosely coupled architecture with design based on dependency injection and IoC containers.
- Proven inversion of control (IoC) containers like Unity, MEF or Castle Windsor development experience
- Proficient Domain Driven Design patterns experience
